Points

Updated Oct 15, 2026

Points is one round where every participant plays and is ranked by the score they earned. It is the score-based sibling of Race: same idea, but results are points instead of times.

When to use it

  • Everyone is measured on a single score, such as a high score, a challenge total or a judged result.
  • You want a simple qualifier for a larger tournament.
  • Results are placements and kills across several games? Use Battle Royale.

How it works here

  1. The stage has one round, called "Round", with one match. Every participant has a place in it.
  2. Each participant gets a result: a whole-number score (never negative) for someone who played, an optional partial score for someone who did not finish, and nothing for someone who did not start.
  3. The round completes when every participant has a final result, or when the organizer uses "Close round". Anyone still out when it is closed is marked as did not start.

Statuses. Complete (has a score), DNF (did not finish, may have a partial score), DNS (did not start) or DSQ (disqualified). Only the organizer can set DNS or DSQ.

Self-reporting. With "Participants report their own score", each participant reports their own result once: either a score or that they did not finish. If the tournament requires proof, they attach a screenshot before reporting, or say they cannot provide one. A participant sees only their own images while staff see all of them. Staff can always enter or correct any score, so turn the option off if you want to enter every score yourself.

Late entry. With "Allow late entry while the stage is running", new participants can join after the round has started, until the tournament's registration cutoff. The organizer adds latecomers by account or by name, and an entry approved while late entry is open joins the round too. A completed round cannot take new participants.

Point penalties. Staff can take points off a participant for a rule break. The penalty comes off their score and is kept on record, and it can be revoked.

How the ranking is decided

Participants are ordered by status first (finishers, then DNF, then those still playing, then DNS, then DSQ). Then:

  1. Highest score, after any penalties. A participant with no score ranks below anyone with one.
  2. If scores are equal, the result that was entered first ranks higher.

Participants who did not start or were disqualified are not classified and never advance to a later stage. The standings show each participant's points as their score minus penalties.

The ranking reads each score after penalties: Player B scored the most but drops to second after a 100 point penalty. DNF ranks below finishers, and DNS and DSQ are not classified.

Settings organizers choose

  • Participants report their own score.
  • Allow late entry while the stage is running.

Both stay editable while the stage runs. Points has no match format or tiebreaker settings.
