Gift cards

A gift card or promo code adds credit to a wallet. Platform administrators issue them, for example as prizes, goodwill or campaigns.
Redeem a code
- Open the wallet to credit: Your wallet, a team's Wallet tab, or the organizer's Finances page.
- Select Redeem a code.
- Enter the code in the format
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. - Select Redeem.
The credit goes into the wallet straight away. To redeem into a team or organizer wallet you need spending rights on it, which means you are its owner. See Wallets.
About codes
- A code is 15 characters in three groups of five. Neither the letter O nor the digit 0 is used, so a typed 0 or O is dropped as you type.
- A gift card is for one person and can be redeemed once.
- A promo code is one offer for many people. Each account can redeem it once, and it can have a limit on total redemptions. Some offers allow only one code per account, and promo codes need a verified email address.
- A code can be expired, not active yet, or cancelled. A code that has already been redeemed cannot be cancelled or taken back.
The limit of one redemption per account counts against whoever types the code, even when the credit goes into a team wallet.
Credit from a code spends like any other credit. If an entry fee it paid for is refunded, the money returns to the wallet as credit. Like all wallet credit, it can't be cashed out yet.
Common messages

| This code has expired. | It is past its end date. |
| This code is not active yet. | It starts later. |
