Ruleset template
Updated Oct 15, 2026
Clear rules prevent most disputes. This template covers the sections players ask about most, and its wording matches how the platform behaves. Copy it, replace everything in square brackets, and delete what does not apply to your event.
How to use it
- Open the tournament, go to Settings and find the Rules field under Info & rules.
- Paste the template and edit it. The field is a rich text editor, so you can turn the section titles into headings and the lines into lists.
- Check each rule against your settings: format, match format, check-in, whether screenshots are required, entry fee, prize split.
- Publish. Rules that mention fees and prizes should match what the page shows, because those are locked at publish.
Keep the rules short enough to be read. Remove sections you do not need rather than leaving them half filled in.
What the platform decides for you
Do not write rules that contradict these. Players see how the platform behaves, and a conflicting rule only creates disputes.
- One report per side. Each side reports the main score once, and can correct its own report until the match settles.
- Reports that agree complete the match. Reports that differ make it disputed. Staff then set the result.
- Map details are optional and never decide a match.
- Staff alone decide forfeits and disqualifications. Players cannot claim a no-show.
- Missing check-in removes the seat before the first stage starts. There is no forfeit for it.
- Rosters lock when the first stage starts. After that, captains can only swap players between active and substitute spots. Staff can still change a lineup.
- Withdrawal with a refund is possible only until the first stage starts. After that there is no drop-out path and no refund.
- Prizes are paid to wallets after a short hold window once the tournament is finished, unless you hold them, and only for tournaments that charge an entry fee through 360clash. The Payouts card on the Standings tab shows the release date.
The template
[TOURNAMENT NAME] - RULES
1. ELIGIBILITY
- Game and platform: [game], [platform / region].
- Who may enter: [players aged [age]+ / teams of [number] players plus [number] substitutes].
- Every player needs a 360clash account. [Every player must link their Epic Games account.]
- One account per person. Shared accounts and smurfing are not allowed.
- Entry fee: [amount or "free"], paid through 360clash when you register. Nothing else is
required to take part.
- Registration closes on [date and time]. Entries are [approved automatically / approved by
the organizers].
2. SCHEDULE AND CHECK-IN
- The tournament starts on [date], [time] [timezone].
- Check-in opens [time] and closes [time]. If you do not check in, you are removed
before the first stage starts and cannot play.
- Matches are played at [times / on a rolling basis]. Be in the match room [number] minutes
before the start time.
- Rosters lock when the first stage starts. After that, captains may only swap players
between active and substitute spots.
- You can withdraw with a full refund until the first stage starts. After that, a side that
does not show up may be given a forfeit loss by staff.
3. MATCH FORMAT
- Format: [single elimination / double elimination / round robin / Swiss / Points / Race /
Battle Royale].
- Matches are [best of 1 / best of 3 / best of 5] [, with the final best of [number]].
- Maps: [map veto in the match room / maps set by the organizers / picked by [rule]].
- Tiebreakers: [list them in order].
4. LOBBY AND HOST
- [Name the team that hosts, for example the higher seed.] The host creates the lobby and
shares the code with the opponent only.
- Do not share a lobby code with anyone who is not in your match. [For Battle Royale, the
organizers release each game's code to the players assigned to it.]
- The lobby settings are: [settings].
- If a lobby fails to start within [number] minutes, [rule].
5. REPORTING RESULTS AND PROOF
- Each side reports the result of its match once on the match page.
The result is the score of the match, for example 2-1 in a best of 3.
- Reporting maps one by one is optional. The main score decides the match.
- [Screenshots are required. Attach a screenshot of the final score to the match, or say you
have none.] [Screenshots are not required but are strongly recommended.]
- Report within [number] minutes of finishing. If both reports agree, the match completes
and the winner advances.
- Keep your own recordings or screenshots until the tournament is over.
6. DISPUTES
- If the two reports differ, the match is marked disputed. Both sides may correct their own
report until they agree.
- If you cannot agree, or you need help during a match, use "Call Admin" in the match room.
Add what happened and your proof there.
- Staff decide disputed results. Their decision is final unless new proof appears before
[the next round starts / the tournament ends].
- Do not argue in public chats. Use the match room.
7. CONDUCT
- Treat everyone with respect. Harassment, hate speech and threats are not tolerated.
- No cheating, exploits, third-party software that gives an advantage, or entering a wrong
result on purpose.
- Staff may warn, penalize, disqualify or remove a participant who breaks these rules. A
disqualification stands for the rest of the stage.
8. DISCONNECTS AND NO-SHOWS
- If a player disconnects, the match [continues with a pause of up to [number] minutes /
is restarted from the same score / is awarded as follows: [rule]].
- A side that is not ready [number] minutes after the scheduled time may be awarded a
forfeit loss by staff. Tell staff in advance if you will be late.
- Technical problems on your side are your responsibility.
9. PRIZES
- Prize pool: [amount / formula]. Places paid: [places and shares].
- [Prizes are paid in euros to your 360clash wallet after a short hold once the tournament is
finished. Your wallet shows when each prize arrives.] Results can be corrected before then,
and payouts can be held while we check.
- Winners are responsible for any tax due on prizes where they live.
- [Non-cash prizes: describe how and when they are delivered.]
10. ORGANIZERS
- Organizers may change the schedule or rules for fairness or technical reasons and will
announce changes in the tournament chat before they apply.
- Questions: [Discord link or contact].
Notes on specific sections
- Check-in: if you turn check-in off, delete those lines. See Check-in settings.
- Screenshots: match this to the Require a screenshot with every reported result setting.
- Lobby code in Battle Royale: keep the code private until release. See Scoring Fortnite games from replays.
- Prizes: if the tournament is free, state clearly who pays any prize and when. 360clash does not pay it. See Prizes and payouts.
